The restoration of a Grade II Listed 18th century home and local landmark
Project description:
The Crossways is a historically important and locally significant Grade II listed building in the highly desirable Golden Manor area of Hanwell. The site dates back to the 18th century and laid derelict for more than a decade before we purchased the site.
The building retained many original features and was listed on the Historic England (previously English Heritage) “At Risk” register. It had deteriorated over recent decades and needed saving.
We were able to take over and rescue the site and after appointing a team of experts (Conservation Architects, Heritage Consultants & Planning Consultants) and spending a number of years working closely with Historic England and the Local Authority, we successfully agreed a scheme to restore this home to its former glory with an enabling development of two semi-detached houses and a detailed restoration of the existing building.
This was a very exciting and challenging project which also required local resident and planning support make the restoration viable so that Crossways could be saved for another era.
